Welcome to Top Shop Auto

Frank & Ben

Family-Owned & Proud

At Top Shop Auto, we're more than just a repair shop—we're a family. Proudly family-owned and operated, we treat every customer like one of our own. With expert service, honest pricing, and a commitment to quality, we’ve been keeping our community on the road with confidence. Stop by and experience the difference!

What to expect

Hot rods and custom vehicles are truly one-of-a-kind — every build is unique. Our estimates reflect our professional assessment of time and cost, but because of the individuality of these projects, they are subject to change. That said, we take pride in our communication — you’ll never be left in the dark about the progress of your vehicle. These builds are a process, and we’ll work closely with you to get your project completed as quickly and efficiently as possible. Top Shop Auto pays the technician hourly- there is a difference.

Flat Rate v.s. Hourly

An hourly rate means the shop charges based on the actual time a technician spends working on your vehicle. For example, if the rate is $100 per hour and the repair takes two hours, you’ll pay $200. This method is transparent and ensures you’re only paying for the real labor time, which can be beneficial if the job is quick or straightforward. The technician will be paid for all the time they spend at the shop. Hourly technician a will spend the needed time with the vehicle for diagnosis and repair.

Hourly pay favors the customer and technician for a job well done.

A flat rate, on the other hand, means the shop charges a fixed price for a specific service, regardless of how long it actually takes. For example, a brake replacement might be listed at $200 whether it takes one hour or three. While this gives customers predictable pricing upfront, it can have downsides. Some shops might rush through jobs to complete more flat-rate work in a day, which can impact quality. You might also end up overpaying for simple repairs that take less time than the flat-rate estimate. Additionally, if a technician encounters unexpected issues, the fixed price may not cover those, leading to added charges or delays. Flat rate pay pushes technicians to not see vehicle issues that they will loose time on, and sell items they can make time on.

Flat rate pay favors the technician and shop- and not the customer. If the shop is slow, the technician may not be paid for all the time they spend at the shop, leading the technician to find work to be paid.

Partnering in the Care of Your Classic Vehicle 2005 & Older

Sourcing, repairing, and building older vehicles is an art form rather than an exact science. We care deeply about bringing your vision to life safely, and we want your experience with us to be smooth and stress-free. Here is how we work together:

  • Patience Pays Off: Classic vehicle timelines fluctuate. Because every project is unique, exact shop start times and completion dates cannot be guaranteed, but we promise the wait is worth the quality.
  • Hands-on Discovery: Definitive parts and repair steps are revealed only after disassembly and inspection. If things change along the way, you will be the first to know.
  • Stay Connected: We will regularly share our best time and cost estimates. Please feel free to stop by the shop whenever you like to see your vehicle's transformation.

·  No Financial Surprises: We bill for time and materials. If a project requires more hours or parts than anticipated, we will pause and update your estimate before moving forward.

·  Easy Step-by-Step Payments: Work and parts ordering begin with a 50% deposit. A 25% payment is due at the halfway point, and the final 25% balance is due upon pickup.

·  Crafting Safe Modifications: Custom design and modifications require extra planning. We take the necessary time to ensure your vehicle is as safe and reliable as it is beautiful.

·  Your Warranty: Our parts pricing covers expert sourcing research. We stand behind our craftsmanship with a 24-month / 24,000-mile parts and labor warranty.
